Vintage 20th Century Art Deco Murano glass table lamp by Ercole Barovier, from the celebrated “Crepuscolo” series, designed and manufactured in Italy during the 1930s. The spherical glass body is internally decorated to create a richly mottled, smoky effect and embellished with distinctive applied circular glass discs, characteristic of Barovier’s inventive approach to surface and texture. The sculptural, jewel like base is complemented by a later tall tapered fabric shade, whose restrained proportions lend the lamp a strikingly modern silhouette while allowing the historic glasswork to remain the focal point.
