Antique 19th Century atmospheric English oil painting on oak depicting Duchess resting in her kennel. Duchess is described as a stylised bulldog, though the breed's appearance over two centuries ago is thought to have closely resembled the dog portrayed here. Rich in character and historical charm, this delightful painting is both a fascinating piece of canine history and an attractive work of art, making it a wonderful addition to any traditional or classical interior.
