Vintage 20th Century Italian silver plated ice bucket in the form of a bird, made in Italy for export to England. The body is finely modelled with a long beak, articulated eye and beautifully chased feather detailing to the head, neck and wings. The upper section lifts away to reveal a fitted removable interior pot, creating a practical ice bucket or wine cooler while preserving the wonderfully whimsical bird silhouette when closed. The base is stamped “SILVER PLATED” beneath an anchor device.
