A rare 20th Century solid silver swan jardinière, made in Germany at the beginning of the century. Both decorative and practical, it is well suited to the dining table. The body is finely modelled as a swan, with carefully worked plumage and a smooth, gracefully curved neck forming the handle.
The underside is hallmarked for German silver (800 standard) with the Crescent and Crown, and also bears a later French registration mark, “DEPOSE”.
