VINTAGE 20thC ENGLISH OAK JEWELLERS WORKBENCH & TOOLS SET c.1960
Reference Number: Z12416
Vintage 20th Century English oak goldsmith and silversmith’s workbench, offered complete with its original tools and traditional leather sheepskin catch apron. The fitted leather catch apron was designed to collect gold and silver filings, preventing valuable material from being lost onto the workshop floor. At the centre of the workbench is a practical semicircular cut out, positioned above the catch apron to provide the jeweller with comfortable access while working. The bench features six narrow drawers to each side, providing ample secure storage for tools, equipment and smaller pieces, all complemented by brass fittings. The bench is accompanied by a substantial selection of original tools from the period. A delightful and highly practical piece of traditional workshop furniture, this would make an exceptional addition to a working garage, studio or workshop. Particularly well suited to a jeweller, silversmith, goldsmith, restorer or collector of traditional craftsmanship.
