Reference Number: D11122

A 20th Century sleek Italian wooden chest of drawers by Ico Parisi for Mim Roma, leading advocates of minimal and conceptual furniture design in the 1950s.

Ico Parisi (1916–1996) was an influential Italian architect and designer whose work bridged the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modernist ideals. Known for his elegant, sculptural furniture and innovative interiors, Parisi collaborated with many of Italy’s foremost manufacturers. Among them was Mim Roma, a company celebrated in the 1950s for its commitment to minimal, conceptual furniture that balanced form and function. Together, Parisi and Mim Roma produced distinctive pieces characterised by clean lines, refined materials, and a distinctly modern aesthetic that captured the spirit of post-war Italian design.
