Reference Number: Z120

A collection of sixteen coloured Mercury glass flasks and spheres with stands. Also known as Witches balls, as when the superstitious Victorians hung one in the window the whole room would be reflected in the sphere therefore protecting it from Witches and evil spirits. This collection also contains flasks of Mercury glass used in chemistry and potion making. This collection is particularly rare as these fragile pieces are less and less frequently found
