Turog Bread Sign

The Turog Brown Flour Company, was launched by Spillers at the turn of the Twentieth Century, a fore runner of all the healthy choices we have today. Turog flour was sold to local bakeries, who baked brown bread with it and then sold and advertised the Turog brand. Up until the 1960's Turog competed with Hovis as the leading "Healthy Loaf". This large wooden sign would have hung outside a small local Bakery, around the 1940's and 1950's. The gold painted letters are supported by three cast iron bars painted in black. This is a real slice of English history.
