An unusual little sideboard from Morris of Glasgow. Designed by Neil Morris, the Cambrae Range won awards at the 1950 Ideal Home Exhibition. Veneered in beautiful Zebra wood, this two door, three drawer sideboard, will make a statement in any room.
Morris of Glasgow, was established in 1884, as Morris Funiture, by Harris Morris. By 1904 they were furnishers of ocean liners built in the shipyards of the Clyde. In 1930 Morris was commissioned to supply and fit the furnishings for the Cunard Queen Mary ocean liner, also built on the Clyde.
In 1938 Neil Morris, son of Harris, joins the company, and fast becomes an innovator in wood technology and desgn. 1947 and Morris becomes the favored Royal supplier, and are commissioned to design and make a bedroom suite for the Queen and Prince Philip, as a Royal Wedding gift.
They even produced the Wurlitzer Jukeboxes for the United States, during the music boom of the mid Fifties. In 2014 the company celebrated a hundred and thirty years of Furniture making.
