A beautiful,Italian designed, set of four chairs and a small table, possibly by Bonacina of Millan. This strong well made set, is bamboo woven onto a sturdy metal frame, typical of Bonacina designs from the fifties and sixties.
Started by Giovanni Bonacina,in Brianza just North of Milan, in 1889, the family, rattan furniture business is still going strong today. A massive hit in the late nineteenth century, when rattan furniture was the height of fashion, for many European Countries, due, in no small part, to colonialism. Through good designs, such as Franco Albini's "Margherita"chair in 1951, Bonacina has moved seemlessly through three centuries.
