Dee Zammit began her career at Bermondsey and Camden Passage Antiques Markets in the early 80's selling silver and jewellery. As the business evolved, our product line expanded to include objects, collectors items and furniture.
Having worked with and been trained by experienced dealers, some of whom are no longer with us, a work ethic was passed on together with a strict training in terms of recogising quality items which are beautifully made and beautifully designed.
18 years ago Dee Zammit trained her team in Antique Restoration and now we run a full service restoration work shop. This enables us to take on work for clients, and to turn round pieces which we find at a relatively quick rate, and place them out for sale. We get enormous pleasure and satisfaction in restoring a beautiful item and bringing it back to its former glory.
With a network of talented restorers, there generally tends to be no restoration job we cannot do. Each project which we undertake is assesed to ensure the structure is sound. Then, we restore the item sympatheticaly in order to to retain as much of the original patina and antique charm as possible. We bring the object back to life by fully restoring a piece and presenting it as it was when it was made. We go to great lengths in making sure we leave all the evidence of its age on a piece, and this whole process is decided on by the team, or the client by special request. Client satisfcation is our aim in every restoration project which we take on.
In addition to our online web shop deezammit.com, we have a collection and drop off unit situated at 65 Portobello Road, London W11 2BQ which is open on Saturdays between 6a.m. and 1p.m. only, all other times by appointment. We also exhibit at the Battersea Decorative Fair which is a triannual event staged at the Evolution Marquee in Battersea Park, London. For tickets to these events or to make an appointment, see our contact page by clicking here.
We follow closely what happens in the world of interior design. We have worked with clients on personal interior design projects, hotel interior projects, restaurants and bars, always supplying unique and interesting pieces. We think that tastes and style are an ever evolving concept, but in our experience, the one process that seems constant is that clients are on a mission to find their own unique look or style and, without meaning to sound biased, we think the world of Antiques is the place to find this.
Whether you have a small or large budget, we have or can find something for everyone. In our experience, great pieces tend to hold their value, with the additional benefit being that buying antiques is good for the environment. We hope that you enjoy our website and that it might provide you with some inspiration. All of our contact details are on our contact us page, and we look forward to welcoming you at the Battersea Decorative Fair or by appointment at our Portobello Road unit in the future. Many thanks!
